Conspiracy theory not always implausible.

From the February 28, 2008 edition of the Las Vegas Penny Press

We told you some months ago that the race for the major party
nominees for the Presidency would be all but wrapped up by the
end of February. Well, we’re pretty much there after Tuesday’s
primaries, and only a week late.
The problem now is that I’m very troubled by some articles
that have mentioned the possible assassination of Barack
Obama.
Unlike many of his supporters, I don’t fear an assassination
attempt from a “militia wacko” or a right wing extremist.
Instead, I view it in the context of something much different,
and much more frightening.
Terrorism.
A couple of years ago I laid out a scenerio where terrorists
could take out three power stations and essentially black out the
western United States. In summertime thousands might die due
to the heat and more in the rioting that could follow.
This could be worse.
Picture this:
Terrorists (possibly Al Qaeta, possibly Bin Laden himself)
recruit a racist cracker to front an assasination attempt against
Obama at a huge rally with others such as Jesse Jackson, Al
Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, Oprah, Rodney King (OK, I’m
reaching, but you know) with a mass of explosives that take
out all the attendees of the entire event. They could even get
the media to pretend it was a fertilizer bomb like their attack on
Oklahoma City.
The ensuing riots against “the man” would demolish the major
cities of this country. Particularly if the rioters decide not to
destroy THEIR neighborhoods this time, but march on the more
upper class sections of their communities. Head for Whitey’s
neighborhoods and make him PAY for killing OUR candidate.
Make him pay for taking away OUR hopes.
All the while the terrorists shut up and watch as Americans do
to America what they couldn’t do.
Welcome to the possibility of the self-destruction of America.
All with one well-placed bomb.
Think it couldn’t happen? It already did.
I know I’m still considered in the minority, lumped in with
the conspiracy theorist wackos, but I still believe the early reports
out of Oklahoma City that Middle Eastern Islamo-Facists took
down the federal building in Oklahoma City. I still believe that
Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were pawns in the grand
scheme of Osama’s plan. There are just too many inconsistencies;
the blast patterns, the timings, the immediate cover up and
discarding of evidence that pointed to anyone other than Nichols
and McVeigh being involved.
I know how much was covered up and how much was only
partially reported as I spent the better part of a week monitoring
news reports directly from radio stations in Oklahoma City and
Kansas for their newscasts and what they were saying. One of
the most respected television news departments in Oklahoma
City initially reported a claim of an Islamic connection from the
beginning which was dropped since they couldn’t independently
verify it.
John Doe #2, allegedly of middle eastern origin, vanished
from the radar despite numerous reports of McVeigh and Nichols
being seen with at least one person matching the description.
Oh yeah, Oklahoma City wasn’t pulled off by a couple of
yokels who cooked up a fertilizer bomb.
It was in fact the work of more terrorists who wanted to send
a warning. They just used McVeigh and Nichols as front men for
their biggest project so far, 9/11.
And perhaps their biggest project to come.
Bringing down the nation’s first African American president.
And in the process, watching America destroy itself.
