Fight the assault on your Talk Radio rights!

Whether you approve of Don Imus' comments or not, the current assault on "sanitizing" talk radio will no doubt end with the destruction of your favorite radio station!

I have compiled a listing of organizations that have conspired to deprive the old cokeheaded drunk of his platform merely because he was doing what he does best.  Please convey your thoughts to them as I have.

A number of these organizations have just email forms that probably route to NUL, but some have real email addresses...that probably route to the same place.  Regardless, a note from you might make a difference.

Dear Mr. Cox

Please know I appreciate you sharing how you feel. And although this is a moot point, as Imus has now been fired from CBS, I do want to clarify a few things. I do not know why the media had said we pulled our campaign, we did not. I called Imus immediately when I found that out and made that perfectly clear to him. In my opinion, this is a man that is truly sorry. It was very important to him to visit the Rutgers families (even after he had been fired he wanted to see them!)...the team showed grace in agreeing to meet with him. All I said is that I was reviewing our campaign for next year. I clearly saw in this man great humility. I was looking at this from all sides. To me, it wasn't about advertising; I believe in redemption, I think he had learned a lesson-what more can this man do?

Anyway, this has been very difficult and obviously we could not control the media but, I want to reemphasize, we did not pull our campaign...our ears and heart were open to seeing good things come out of this whole experience.

I am glad you took the time to let us know how you feel; I just wish we had a chance to allow something positive to come from all this divisiveness, for us all to reach a higher place.

Thank you very much for letting me share with you how I feel....

So maybe contacting Bigelow might still be a good thing to thank them for at least responding!)

When
you contact advertisers, you may want to ask why they think Imus should be banned, but it's OK for Jesse "Hymietown" Jackson and Al "Tawana Brawley" Sharpton to continue with their broadcasts, as they are outspoken anti-semites.
